Symptoms and Diagnoses Can Have Many Underlying Causes
What to Expect:
1st Visit: When you come for your first appointment, we'll go over a thorough health history. You'll have also filled out a thorough health history survey (The "Systems Survey") that will help uncover which organ systems may be under stress. You may be recommended to start changing a few things in your dietary habits or to making some lifestyle changes.
After that, we'll order lab testing that will be the first line in uncovering what is making you feel unwell.
2nd Visit: We'll have all labs back. We'll take results from the labs (the objective) and the Systems Survey and your clinical symptoms/history (the subjective) to come up with a Nutrition Plan of Action. You'll take home a report of these findings and what you'll be implementing to correct them. We'll also discuss if ordering any additional labs might be of benefit.
3rd Visit and Beyond: We'll meet about once a month to check-in and make sure you are progressing as planned. Each patient is different and will require different tweaks to their plan. When working on these health issues it is often akin to "peeling an onion." There are different layers to the dis-ease and different levels of treatment.
Additional Visits/Health Coaching: Some patients will benefit from weekly check-ins in the first few months of working together to make sure that their dietary and lifestyle changes are going well. These sessions also help to add accountability and ensure mastery of new habits.
