Find a Licensed Acupuncturist
Find a Licensed Acupuncturist in your area approved by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). NCCAOM administers the national board exams that the vast majority of states in the US require for licensure.
Student Clinics
There are about 50 accredited Oriental Medicine schools across the country, all of which should have a student teaching clinic. At one of these clinics you will be treated by a student intern who is supervised by an experienced Licensed Acupuncturist. Search the ACAOM website (Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine) for a school near you.
Community Acupuncture
Are you looking for affordable acupuncture in your area? The Community Acupuncture model is becoming popular and offers an inexpensive way for people to receive numerous acupuncture treatments. The idea is that people are treated in a group setting using points mostly accessible on the head, neck, hands, arms, feet and lower legs. Visit the Community Acupuncture Network‘s site to locate a clinic near you.
